The further south, the less crowded the beach gets. It is considered the main windsurfing beach with a number of tournaments every year. Boards for rent and surfing schools can also be found here. Hat Wong Phra Chan is a small tranquil beach on the northern side of Pattaya Bay. The beautiful island of Koh Lan is about 45 minutes by ferry or 15 minutes by speedboat from Pattaya and a popular day trip destination. The best beaches with white sand and clear water can be found on the western side of the island, including Hat Thonglang and Hat Ta Waen with a bustling atmosphere, aquatic sports, souvenir shops, and restaurants. Hat Laem Thian and Hat Samae are more relaxed. Visitors can choose to join a glass-bottom boat or snorkeling to view coral reefs in front of Laem Thian. In the southern part of the island are 4 more beaches - Hat Nuan, Hat Samae, Hat Ta Waen and Hat Thian, all popular and suitable for snorkeling. Six hundred meters north of Koh Lan, is the small island of Koh Sak with small beaches and ranges of coral to the south. Mu Koh Phai National Park, 23 kilometers from Pattaya comprising Koh Phai, Koh Man Wichai, Koh Lueam and Koh Klueng Badan. Koh Phai is the biggest one and is under the supervision of the Royal Thai Navy. Many dive boats visit these islands for their many great dive sites. From Khao Phra Tam Nak and Khao Phra Bat there are panoramic views of the city of Pattaya and its crescent bay. The fishing village of Bang Saray has beachside restaurants with fantastic seafood. The Sanctuary of Truth is a huge wooden structure situated by the sea, conceived out of the vision that human civilization has been achieved and nurtured by religious and philosophical truth. At Silver Lake Vineyard local wines are prodiced with tastings possible. Underwater World is an aquarium with marine species from the Gulf of Thailand. Visitors can walk through the pedestrian tunnel to get a close up. Pattaya Elephant Village: This elephant camp focuses on daily life of elephants and their masters and also offers a one-hour elephant ride. Stage shows demonstrating how to catch wild elephants, elephants-at-work in the jungle, elephants playing football and a grand war elephants’ parade are highlights of a visit. Khao Kheow is a huge zoo with around 8000 animals of 300 species. Sriracha Tiger Zoo has over 200 Bengal tigers and 100,000 crocodiles, which can be seen close up. Nong Nooch Tropical Garden and Resort is a sprawling recreation park in a typical Thai settings. Groups of traditional Thai houses and gardens of different plants are dotted around the beautifully landscaped site.
